Bougouriba: The Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) and entrance exams for sixth grade, 2026 session, officially began Tuesday at the Iolonioro A examination center in Bougouriba province. Administrative and educational authorities took the opportunity to encourage candidates and urge them to remain calm and adhere to the exam guidelines.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony took place in the presence of the prefect, president of the Special Delegation of the commune of Iolonioro, Joachim Konkobo, the communal coordinator of basic education, head of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Iolonioro, Babon Basile Bitiono, as well as members of the regional supervision mission dispatched by the Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education of Dj´r´.
Before the official opening of the first envelope containing the exam questions, the authorities sent messages of support to the candidates. They urged them to remain focused, to be disciplined, and to rely on the knowledge acquired during the school year.
The prefect and education officials also praised the efforts made by teachers, parents, and all stakeholders in the education system to ensure good preparation of candidates and the smooth running of exams.
In the various rooms visited, the candidates displayed a mixture of serenity and determination. When interviewed by the AIB, several of them stated that they were ready to face the challenges after several months of preparation. 'We have revised well with our teachers. We are confident and we will give our best,' said a candidate encountered at the Iolonioro A center.
According to statistics provided by the CEB of Iolonioro, the single examination board for the commune has a total of 379 candidates distributed across four examination centers. The necessary organizational and security measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth running of the exams at all sites.
Educational officials expressed their satisfaction with the conditions for the start of the exam, marked by the effective presence of candidates and mobilized staff. The CEP constitutes the first academic diploma of the Burkinabe school curriculum and opens the way to post-primary education through the entrance examination for the sixth grade. The results of this session are expected to be announced no later than June 12, 2026.
