Bangkok: Around 35 residents were evacuated in the early hours of Sunday after a significant fire erupted in a vacant semi-detached house in eastern Singapore, officials confirmed. The blaze, which consumed the first floor and spread upwards, required a swift response from local firefighters.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was notified of the fire at approximately 12:45 a.m. Firefighters from both Kallang and Paya Lebar Fire Stations responded promptly to the scene. The intense fire was brought under control and subsequently extinguished by 3:00 a.m., though not before causing substantial damage to the house’s upper floors and affecting an adjacent unit.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but as a safety measure, about 35 residents from nearby properties were evacuated. Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
