32 Young Learners Trained for Self-Employment in Kossi


Nouna: The High Commissioner of the Kossi province, Noufo Dembel©, presided over the end of training ceremony for 32 young people in agricultural entrepreneurship from the Badenya center and in cutting and sewing from the Bernadette Soubirous center in Bomborokuy. The ceremony took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards self-employment for these individuals.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the 32 young learners, who have completed their training in agricultural entrepreneurship and tailoring, were each awarded a certificate of completion. They also received support in the form of equipment valued at 9,500,000 CFA francs to aid their professional integration. This initiative is part of the OCADES project, supported by the Integrated Food Security Reinforcement Programme (PIRSA), which aims to tackle youth employability challenges.



The various speakers at the event lauded the initiative and endorsed the quality of the training provided. Val©rie Dama, the spokesperson for the learners, expressed gratitude towards OCADES for focusing on their socio-professional integration and emphasized the quality of the training received.



Noufo Dembel©, the High Commissioner of Kossi Province, extended his congratulations to OCADES and its partners, assuring them of the administration’s commitment to supporting such initiatives. He also offered guidance to the learners, encouraging them to set an example for future participants.



The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of Bishop Emeritus Joseph Sama, after whom the learners took their baptismal name, the Executive Director of OCADES, Father S©bastien Sanou, the Director of the Badenya Center, Father Anani Dakyo, and the Director of PIRSA, Ahmed Yam©ogo. The event featured dance performances by the learners and a showcase of their skills through a parade and presentation of agricultural products.
