Makueni: At least 30 women at Mother and Child Hospital in Makueni County received gift hampers from Makueni Deputy Governor Lucy Mulili to mark Mother’s Day.
According to Kenya News Agency, the mothers who gave birth at the hospital were presented with gift hampers that included clothes for the newborns, diapers, baby shawls, and a small token. Mulili stated that the gesture was part of the government’s efforts to honor and celebrate motherhood.
Mulili emphasized the important role women play in society and urged them to prioritize medical care for their infants by adopting modern health practices to ensure better outcomes.
The event was attended by various officials, including the County Executive Committee Member for Internship, Education and ICT, Elizabeth Muli, the County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Dr. Sonia Nzilani, County Solicitor Jennifer Kyumwa, Makueni County Referral Hospital CEO Martha Munyao, and other senior county government officials.
