2nd Provincial Mock Exam Conducted for Konab©r© and Dioula Literacy Learners

Tansila: Learners from Konab©r© and Dioula language literacy centers in the Basic Education Districts (CEB) of Tansila and Solenzo were assessed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the Douma and Tansila A public primary schools. In an effort to promote national languages, the Burkinabe authorities have authorized the teaching of several national languages through literacy centers.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative led to the establishment of centers for Konab©r© and Dioula, the dominant languages of the villages in the commune of Tansila. This development culminated in a second provincial mock exam aimed at testing the learners' proficiency in these languages. The assessment included disciplines such as text study, operations, problem-solving, and an oral reading test.

The examination commenced with a visit from Mr. Pedro Blaise Coulibaly, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education (DPEPPNF) of Banwa. He was accompanied by Mr. Emmanuel Ki, head of the provincial directorate of Examinations and Competitions of Banwa, and educational supervisors from the CEB of Tansila. Their presence was intended to motivate learners and encourage them to engage enthusiastically in their studies.

Mr. Pedro Blaise Coulibaly emphasized the importance of adult education, stating, "It's not easy to study as an adult, but learning to read and write in your mother tongue is very important. I encourage you to persevere even more." A total of 53 learners participated in the exam, with 26 studying Konab©r© and 27 studying Dioula. One of the participants, Kont©r© Dioma, expressed confidence in his ability to tackle the assessment topics with calmness.
