Ouagadougou: The 28th BIR donates 3 tons of rice and 30 cartons of soap to the local population
The 28th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) donated 3 tons of rice and 30 cartons of soap to the residents of Arbinda on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The handover took place in the presence of various members of the community. The donation was received by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Comrade Lazard KIEME.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in addition to its core missions of securing people and property and defending the integrity of the national territory, the 28th BIR also carries out solidarity actions in favor of the population. This donation aims to support households in meeting their basic needs, while strengthening the bonds of trust between the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and local communities.
The president of the Special Delegation, Comrade Lazard KIEME, welcomed this gesture of solidarity, which he described as a testament to the close relationship between the 28th BIR and the people of Arbinda. Deployed in Arbinda since December 2025, the 28th BIR conducts offensive and defensive operations as part of the fight against terrorism.
These actions have contributed to improving the security situation in the municipality, thus promoting the gradual resumption of socio-economic activities and the return of peace to the locality. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the 28th BIR for this gesture of solidarity and offered wishes of success and divine protection to the forces engaged in the reconquest of the national territory and the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso.
