Banwa: Nearly 26 tons and 1 bag of cement, 40 shovels, and 5 wheelbarrows were collected this Monday at the rotating colors rise at the Sofitex of Solenzo, marking the provincial launch of the Faso Mebo initiative in Banwa.
According to Burkina Information Agency, residents of Banwa province, including men, youth, women, and the vital forces, responded to the call from High Commissioner Sanfienale Joseph Sirima by making voluntary contributions to the Faso Mebo initiative. The High Commissioner emphasized the importance of local involvement, stating, “No one will come and build our province for us. Anyone who has cement, paving molds, shovels, granite, tricycles, wheelbarrows, now is the time to show their patriotism while waiting for the Faso Mebo brigade to be installed.”
Mr. Sirima explained that the initiative seeks to foster patriotism and a love for the homeland while awakening a sense of integrity and self-sacrifice among the population for the development of Banwa province. Father Etienne Zagre, the spokesperson for customary and religious leaders in the region, highlighted the collective effort, stating, “We, the customary and religious leaders, came together to deliver 4 tons of cement to build our province and send a message of peace, cohesion, tolerance, love, and unity because it is in this that we can succeed and achieve our objectives.”
Donations will continue at the Solenzo High Commission and in the town halls of the province, as other municipalities await the arrival of Technicians from the Faso Mebo brigade.
