Ouagadougou: The provincial coordination of citizen watch associations was honored with a visit from 25 agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who have recently completed their training as part of the presidential initiative for agricultural production and food self-sufficiency.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit took place on Monday, April 6, 2026, and involved young men and women who underwent 100 days of patriotic immersion training in agriculture and plant science. The class representative, Moussa Sangare, emphasized the significance of presenting their roadmap for future support and expressed the group's mission to achieve food self-sufficiency in Burkina Faso, focusing on the Koosin region.
Sangare further mentioned that the purpose of the visit was to gain the blessings of religious leaders, seek guidance from technical services, and show their readiness to serve the nation in various capacities. Coordinator Adama Dao praised the initiative and congratulated the volunteers on the successful completion of their training phases.
During the meeting, the coordination members highlighted the importance of discipline and adhering to commitments. Senior member Adama Cisse expressed optimism that the VDP would carry forward the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution. Additionally, Kassoum Drame, the focal point for development, emphasized that the agricultural VDP must exemplify exemplary conduct in their daily activities.
The spokesperson for the agricultural VDP assured their availability to work with the coordination to overcome any challenges, aiming to benefit the resilient population of Koosin.
