20 Members of the Same Family in Gnagna Suffer Food Poisoning


Manni – Twenty people were admitted to the urban Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) of Manni after consuming meat soup, the AIB learned on Thursday.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the incident began with the consumption of meat soup by members of the Dabourgou family. The meat was brought back from the market on Wednesday evening by a family member. Some time after consuming the soup on Thursday morning, June 13, 2024, almost all consumers began experiencing vomiting and abdominal pain.



In response to the situation, all 20 individuals, who are internally displaced persons from Moipienga, were taken to the urban CSPS of Manni for treatment. According to medical professionals, their lives are not in danger. Seven people were hospitalized, while the others, no longer showing symptoms, have already returned home.



Human and animal health authorities from the commune of Manni visited the patients and provided practical advice to the family. They recommended caution to all citizens to avoid similar incidents in the future.
