179 Central Army Group Members Honored at Ouagadougou Ceremony

Kadiogo: 179 agents of the Central Army Group decorated at the Guillaume-Ou©draogo camp: One hundred and seventy-nine (179) members of the Central Army Group (GCA) were decorated on Wednesday at Camp Guillaume-Ou©draogo in Ouagadougou, in recognition of their commitment and sacrifices in service to the nation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the recipients displayed their medals before families and superiors, including Colonel Narcisse Bassinga, commander of the Central Army Group. Among them, 16 were awarded the Order of the Stallion, 21 received the Military Medal of Honor, 120 the Military Medal, 17 were admitted to the Order of Merit of Burkina Faso, and five were awarded the Combatant's Cross.

This ceremony is part of the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the National Armed Forces, coinciding with the celebration of National Independence Day in December 2025. It aims to honor those whose commitment and loyalty have supported the National Armed Forces.

The organizers highlighted the Central Army Group's role in 2025, noting their presence in all aspects of support, from medical care for the wounded to military intelligence and social support for affected families. These efforts have contributed significantly to the resilience and cohesion of the National Armed Forces.

For the officers, decorating a GCA soldier goes beyond awarding a medal. It recognizes sustained commitment in the fight against terrorism, where support services are crucial. Lieutenant Colonel Michael Tiendr©b©ogo expressed his gratitude after receiving his award, viewing it as a call to enhance his efforts.

Chief Warrant Officer Kady Berba, from the Medical Battalion, dedicated her medal to her family and colleagues, expressing gratitude for the recognition. Colonel Narcisse Bassinga emphasized the importance of recognizing the recipients' commitment, urging them to excel in future missions while congratulating the newly decorated officers.
