OSHAKATI: An 11-year-old girl was reportedly raped on her way to school in Ondangwa, prompting NamPol in the Oshana Region to advise learners to walk in groups for safety. Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the region’s NamPol Community Affairs Officer, stated that the attack occurred at the Etambo dumping site.
According to The Namibia Press Agency, The suspect allegedly assaulted and raped the girl as she was passing through the area. The incident was reported to the police by the victim’s aunt. Aiyambo called for community vigilance and reporting of such incidents to enhance the safety of children in the region. The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
