11 INJURED IN NEW BOMBING OF A BAR IN NIGERIA

A new attack in northeastern Nigeria left 11 people injured after an explosion in a bar in Taraba state.

The explosion took place at a bar serving smuggled alcohol in the Nokai district on the outskirts of the state capital Jalingo yesterday, police spokesman Othman Abdullah told AFP.

He said, “The explosive hidden in a polythene bag was left by an unknown person in the pub during a power outage,” noting that “11 people were injured in the blast, 10 men and a woman.”

The spokesman refused to speculate on the identities of those involved in the bombing, which came three days after a bloody attack claimed by ISIS jihadists.
