DORI: The Alliance for Development, National Resilience and Solidarity in Burkina (ADRN-SB) recently conducted a three-day training session for 100 community leaders in Dori, focusing on endogenous conflict resolution mechanisms. The training, held from October 15 to 17, 2024, aimed to equip local leaders with the skills needed to manage conflicts peacefully within their communities. According to Burkina Information Agency, Ahmed Maïga, the coordinator of ADRN-SB, stated that the initiative is part of the project "Promoting Peace and Social Cohesion in the Commune of Dori." The project seeks to revitalize traditional conflict management techniques by adapting them to modern-day challenges. Maïga emphasized that these trainings are integral to a broader strategy aimed at fostering peace and social cohesion in the region. The training session underscored the importance of community-led efforts in maintaining long-term stability in Dori and the wider Sahel region. Maïga highlighted the crucial role of communit ies in managing differences and working towards a shared future. Participants engaged in exercises that involved identifying, analyzing, and resolving conflicts through peaceful means, utilizing tools that are rooted in local traditions. Community leaders expressed their appreciation for the training provided by ADRN-SB, acknowledging that the skills acquired would enable them to effectively fulfill their roles in their respective communities.
