President Cyril Ramaphosa bestows National Orders, 18 Nov

President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Grand Patron of the National Orders, will on Thursday, 18 November 2021, bestow the 2021 National Orders Awards on distinguished citizens and eminent foreign nationals who have contributed towards the advancement of democracy and have made a significant impact on improving the lives of South Africans.

The National Orders are the highest awards that South Africa bestows, through the President of the Republic. They recognise the contributions made by individuals towards building a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa as envisaged in our Constitution.

During the ceremony, President Ramaphosa will bestow the Order of Ikhamanga, the Order of the Baobab, the Order of Luthuli, and the Order of the Companions of OR Tambo on deserving recipients.

Details of the ceremony are as follows:

Date: Thursday, 18 November 2021

Time: 10h00 (Media to arrive at 08h00 for the Ceremony)

Venue: Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House, Pretoria

Members of the media interested in covering the ceremony are requested to immediately send their names, ID/Passport numbers and media house to Khutjo Sebata on khutjo@presidency.gov.za(link sends e-mail) or 0798984621 by no later than 12:00 on Wednesday, 17 November 2021 .

DRESS CODE: Members of the media are kindly requested to note that the dress code is formal or traditional attire. No jeans and takkies will be allowed.
