Three Arrested in Connection with Murder of Former Police Official in Whittlesea

WHITTLESEA – The Whittlesea police force apprehended three individuals, aged between 19 and 24, on charges related to the murder of a former police official. The incident occurred on 4 November 2023, and the suspects were taken into custody shortly thereafter.

According to South African Police Service, the victim, a 64-year-old male previously stationed at SAPS Whittlesea Supply Chain Management, was discovered with multiple stab wounds. The nature and extent of these injuries suggested a violent encounter leading to his death. The three suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, appeared in the Whittlesea Magistrate Court on Monday, 6 November 2023, to face charges related to this alleged crime. The case has drawn attention to the safety of former law enforcement officials and the prevalence of violent crime in the area.
