Ondangwa: Paavo Amwele Re-Elected as Mayor for Third Term

Ondangwa – Paavo Amwele has been re-elected as the mayor of Ondangwa for the third consecutive term in an election held last Friday. Ester Auala, also from the Swapo party, will serve as the deputy mayor. The new management committee includes Julia Kapia (Swapo), Gaus Tshithigona (IPC), and Nicodemus Amadhila (Swapo), with Kapia also retaining her role as the chairperson. The committee’s composition reflects a blend of experience and new perspectives, following the resignation of former member Ericky Angula earlier this year.

According to Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA), in his acceptance speech, he emphasized his ongoing dedication to promoting hard work, innovation, and improved governance. He stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in service delivery to the community. Amwele highlighted the significance of teamwork among council members and staff, underscoring the need to provide a conducive working environment to achieve their objectives effectively.
