NNA – The president of South Sudan Salva Kiir Thursday snubbed a meeting in New York devoted to civil war in his country, denounced an American diplomat who has threatened new sanctions against the belligerents.
“These meetings were devoted to the devastating impact of the civil war in South Sudan, the humanitarian impact, but also the lack of political progress to find a solution,” he said.
“If the belligerents do not take this more seriously, we will impose more severe sanctions,” the American diplomat warned, without saying who would be affected.
