OPUWO: The Namibian Police (NAMPOL) in Opuwo are investing a rape case of a 72 years old women who was raped on a day light at Ondore village about 10 kilometers south of Opuwo.
According to the police crime report of Monday the incident happened on Saturday around 09H30 at an abandoned house at the village of Ondore.
It is alleged in the police report that the victim, Maria Muramba was on her way to a funeral of a relative at Ondore village when she approached an abandoned home and were an unknown man to her was. According to the police statement she approached the man with the intention to ask for direction to the place where people were gathered for the purpose of the funeral. On inquiry the man took out a knife which he threatened her with and forced her into the hut and raped her.
No arrest had been made in the case and investigation continues.
In another incident on Friday around 21H00 at Leeuland Farm in the Kamanjab area a 32 years old women was allegedly raped by a 39 years old man.
According to the police report the victim went to Leeuland from her place to by tobacco where she met with the suspect. The suspect whom she knows threatened to cut off her head if she refused to go with him to his place. It is alleged that the victim was taken to the house of the suspect where the suspect raped her. The victim is identified as Thresia Idan.
No arrest was made in the case and police investigation continues.

It is alleged that the victim asked a stranger for directions to a funeral, when the man took out a knife, forced her into the hut and raped her.
In a separate incident, a 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a 39-year-old man on Friday around 21h00 at Farm Leeuland in the Kamanjab area.
According to the police, the victim went to Leeuland to buy tobacco when she met the suspect whom she knows.
He allegedly threatened to cut off her head if she refused to go with him to his place, where he subsequently raped her.
No arrests have yet been made in both cases, and police investigations continue.
