ICAO is a UN specialist agency responsible for administering and standardising the world’s civil aviation activities.
The commemoration will comprise three main events an airshow and a career exhibition. The career exhibition will be attended by 2000 learners from the neighbouring communities, especially those that were historically marginalised. Minister Maswanganyi will deliver a keynote address on the day.
The theme for the 2017 ICAD is ‘working together to ensure no country is left behind’.
The occasion will also be used to commemorate the contribution of one of the South African struggle heroes, O.R Tambo, who would have turned 100 years this year.
