PORT ELIZABETH, SOUTH AFRICA, July 28 — Three persons, including a disabled man, have been hacked to death at their home at Lugwijini village in Bizana in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province, the police say.
The police confirmed over the weekend that a 65-year-old woman, her 70-year-old husband and their 25-year-old disabled son were brutally killed by an angry mob.
It is believed that they were killed after they were accused of practising witchcraft.
A community member said the deceased were devout Christians.
The situation is tense in the village and police are investigating.
