SWAKOPMUND: The owner of Erongo Meat and Fish Market was arrested here on Monday by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), on alleged charges of being in possession of game meat without a permit.
Regional Crime Investigations’ Coordinator of NamPol in the Erongo Region, Deputy Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa stated during a press conference held on Tuesday, that NamPol received a tip-off from members of the public, that the suspect received meat believed to be Oryx meat.
She further said that a total of 10 Oryx carcases were confiscated and the value of the meat is estimated at N.dollars 20 000.
