A friendly reminder for all to be aware of the drink driving rules and limitations that apply on the roads, apply just the same on the water.

It really is a simple message to everyone, alcohol and water do not mix.

Please also be careful when fishing around rock areas on the Illawarra and South Coast beaches.

Kiama Game Fishing Club will hold their annual Shimano Kids Fishing comp around the enclosed waters of Kiama Harbour on Sunday, January 8.

It is at this time of year most people look forward to time off work, enjoying the summer weather and relaxing.

However, unfortunately there have also been a number of reports of theft and vandalism in the region. 

Kiama Harbour is one location recently attacked, the incident happening sometime early on Christmas Eve, with a railing destroyed and safety gate some four metres off the tarmac.

It happened early in the evening before 9.30pm and anyone who seen any such activity are asked to contact Kiama Police.
