RUNDU: The Kavango regional Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) leadership has called on the Swapo Party leadership and the government to intervene in the ongoing squabble between SPYL secretary Dr. Elijah Ngurare and the Minister of Youth, National Service Sport and Culture Kazenambo Kazenambo.
The two cadres have recently been embroiled in verbal attack on each other through the media, something which the SPYL leadership in the Kavango region regards as ‘unpleasant and worrisome’ incident which cannot go unchallenged.
Speaking during a media briefing held at Rundu on Saturday, Kavamgo regional SPYL mobilizer Paulus Mbangu said the Kavango regional SPYL leadership is shocked and does not believe the several attacks carried out by Kazenambo who is a senior member of the Swapo Party and of the government.
The SPYL leadership accused Kazenambo of instilling indiscipline and promoting insults and infighting as well as failing to uphold cultural values amongst the youth.
They blamed Kazenambo of advocating for a non-Oshiwambo President, which according Mbangu is pure tribalism, and against the Namibian Constitution and that of the Swapo Party Constitution.
“Comrade Kazenambo went ahead to declare war against comrade Dr. Ngurare, which is in breach of the party Constitution in terms of acting in the spirit of comradeship,” said the SPYL Mobilizer in Kavango.
Mbangu the SPYL leadership has observed with great concern that Kazenambo has apparently absconded several youth activities such as National Youth Council (NYC) General Assembly held in December 2010, the fourth and fifth National Youth Week held in Rundu and Windhoek respectively.
Other which Kazenambo apparently absconded includes the China-Africa young leader forum held in Windhoek 2011 and the just ended historic 5th congress of the SPYL.
