SPYL calls on Swapo Party leadership and government to intervene in ongoing squabble between SPYL secretary and Minister of Youth

RUNDU: The Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) leadership in the Kavango region has called on the Swapo Party leadership and the government to intervene in the ongoing squabble between SPYL secretary Dr. Elijah Ngurare and the Minister of Youth, National Service Sports and Culture, Kazenambo Kazenambo.

The two cadres have recently been embroiled in verbal attacks on each other through the media, something which the SPYL leadership in the Kavango region regards as an ‘unpleasant and worrisome’ incident, which cannot go unchallenged.

Speaking during a media briefing at Rundu on Saturday, Kavango Regional SPYL mobilizer Paulus Mbangu said they are shocked and do not want to believe the various attacks carried out by Kazenambo, who is a senior member of the Swapo Party and of Government.

The SPYL leadership accused Kazenambo of instilling ill-discipline and promoting insults and infighting, as well as failing to uphold cultural values amongst the youth.

They furthermore blamed Kazenambo for advocating for a non-Oshiwambo president for the country, which Mbangu charged is pure tribalism and against the Namibian constitution as well as the Swapo Party constitution.
