WINDHOEK: The Swapo-Party Youth League (SPYL) has called on President Hifikepunye Pohamba to order investigations into remarks made by a Namibia Training Authority (NTA) Board member against suspended NTA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maria Nangolo-Rukoro.
One of the NTA Board members reportedly remarked to Nangolo-Rukoro that she does not have Education Minister Abraham Iyambo to protect her anymore shortly before she was suspended.
In a media statement issued here today, SPYL spokesperson Shipululo Kanandjembo Amupanda said if there is any truth to the reports, then the least definition they can apportion to this statement is blasphemy.
He added that if there is any truth in these reports it means there is a vicious character in the NTA Board that finds amusement in the sad passing of the late minister.
Amupanda said if there is any truth to the reports, the Board member must be banned from serving on any Board in Namibia.
Nangolo-Rukoro was suspended with full pay and benefits with immediate effect on charges that were apparently put to her, but were not mentioned in a media release announcing her suspension.
