GOBABIS: Spar Gobabis has come to the aid of the Women and Men Network – a community-based crime fighting initiative, which institute neighbourhood watches under the guidance of the regional police.
The company, a well-known retailing brand at the town, yesterday donated 100 printed T-shirts and caps estimated at about N.dollars 20 000 to members of the committee for easy and formal identification purposes.
Spar Gobabis Manager, Piere Venter, said he decided to come to the group’s assistance after realising the important function the group execute within the community.
He said many people can now sleep sound at night, mainly because of the hard work of the Men and Women Network.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Regional Commander for Omaheke, Commissioner Josephat Abel used the opportunity to call on community members to assist the Men and Women Network and not to hinder their work.
