PRETORIA, June 11 – The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has announced the shortlisted candidates for positions in the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa, and they are all women.
The vacancies are for a position on the Constitutional Court Bench and deputy president of the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA).
On March 31 the JSC published an advertisement calling for nominations of people interested to fill a vacancy in the Constitutional Court, which arose following the retirement of Judge Thembile Skweyiya.

The candidates are Judge Nonkosi Zoliswa Mhlantla, Judge Dhayanithie Pillay, Judge Leona Valerie Theron and Judge Zukisa Laura Lumka Tshiqi.
The JSC will also interview Judge Mandisa Muriel Lindelwa Maya for the position of SCA deputy president. She was nominated by President Jacob Zuma.
“The organized legal profession, institutions with an interest in the work of the JSC and interested persons are requested to submit comments on the above-mentioned candidates to the Secretariat of the JSC by no later than 22 June 2015,” the JSC said Wednesday.
