CHICAGO, South African Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo has received a Leadership and Humanitarian Awards from American civil rights leader and social justice activist Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr.
The presentation of the award took place on sidelines of Jackson’s annual Rainbow Push Coalition Convention in Chicago aimed at promoting education and economic justice around the world.
Dlodlo described the award as a huge honour. It is a huge honour for me to receive an international award for leadership; it is something that I’ve never dreamed of as a kid. I never dreamt of it even now as an adult,” she added
“… but also being given that (award) by a world luminary, who has fought for justice all over the world; who speaks the right language in terms of solidarity; who speaks the right language in terms of economic citizenry; rights citizenry; it’s a huge honour for me.
