RUNDU: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Rundu are hard on the ground searching for the suspects who allegedly murdered a 25 year-old man by stabbing him several times with sharp objects between Sunday night and the early hours of Monday morning.

The deceased was found dead at Kehemu informal settlement on the outskirt of Rundu after he allegedly stabbed with object suspected to either be a panga, an axe or a knife which inflicted several wounds on his body. The deceased was identified as Eliphas Muhoka, a resident of the Kehemu informal settlement and his next of kin were informed.

Kavango regional NamPol’s Crime Investigations Co-ordinator Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton said on Tuesday that it seems as if the deceased tried to escape from the attackers because where he was found is far from where he was attacked and that the deceased also sustained a deep wound on his back.

The police crime coordinator have thus appealed to anyone in the vicinity of Rundu with information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects to approach their nearest police station or contact the police Crime Co-ordinator Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton at cellular phone number: 0811290051.
In another incident, a 53 year-old woman was found dead alongside the footpath at Divundu settlement situated some 200km east of Rundu in the early morning hours of Saturday.

According to the police crime coordinator, the deceased was found by a security guard who was on his way to work. Deputy Commissioner Bampton said the deceased identified as Mestilde Ndambu was last seen on Friday drinking and was observed to have been very drunk.

The police suspects that the deceased might have died from extreme cold weather condition as no foul play and footprints were seen on the scene other than that of the deceased.
