WINDHOEK: The Roads Authority (RA) has entered into a contract agreement with the Roads Contractor Company (RCC) for the construction of bridges over three rivers along a district gravel road in the Ovitoto area.
The contract for the construction of the three bridges in the Otjozondjupa Region between the two State-owned entities was signed at a function held at the RA head office in the capital this morning.
The RA’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Conrad Lutombi and RCC CEO Engelhardt Haihambo signed the agreement on behalf of their respective State-owned companies.
The construction of the bridges will cost about N.dollars 63 million and work is expected to be completed over a period of 12 months.
The construction of the bridges will be done at three rivers, namely the Bobbejaan, Niehaus and Swakop rivers, which are located on the district road (DR) 2102 that turns off from the B1 road approximately 59 kilometres north of Windhoek.
An official groundbreaking ceremony to commence work on the three bridges will take place tomorrow at the Swakop River along the DR 2102 gravel road near Ovitoto.
