In its quest to promote and develop wrestling in the country, The Gambia Wrestling Federation has effected minor changes in the executive of the association, according to a statement sent to the Observer Sports by it’s Secretary General Habibou Nyassi.
Ainou Jarju, elected as the auditor, is now elevated to the position of treasurer, while Matarr Saine shall continue to serve as the public relations officer as well as the first assistant treasurer. Awa AV Njai, the assistant secretary general is now the second assistant treasurer. Ebou Yorro Bojang is now appointed as the organising chairman; Sanjally Njie is the assistant secretary general. Mam Gibbie Sawaneh of Unique FM Radio is now the media officer.
“On the same vein, the wrestling promoters willing to renew their promotional licenses and those willing to join the wrestling promotion can send in their application to the address to the Secretary General of The Gambia Wrestling Federation,” the release said.
“A master timetable will be prepared by the association for the all the license promoters naming it the wrestling event calendar. Four promoters have already renewed their license and have sent in their intended dates of wrestling. GWA calls on all people willing to fly the wrestling promotion flag to come on board before the wrestling event calendar will be out. Wish you all a successful wrestling season of 2015-2016.”
