ONGWEDIVA: Crime Investigation Coordinator of the Namibian Police (NamPol) in the Ohangwena Region Deputy Commissioner Abner Agas confirmed that a 42-year-old man was arrested for murdering another man of 28 years in the region.
Speaking to NAMPA on Monday, Agas said the incident took place last Friday at about 21h50 at the cuca shops of Ondjengo village.
According to Agas, the suspect stabbed the deceased once in the chest with a knife following a quarrel between the two.
Police noted that the cause of the quarrel was not yet known. The deceased is said to have died instantly.
Agas identified him as Shipaya Lineekela from the Okashitika village, while the suspect was thus far identified only as a villager from Onainganga village.
He was due top appear in the magistrate court at Oshakati on Monday. The Police, Agas said, were still busy to determine what caused the two men to engage into a quarrel.
The next of kin of the deceased were already informed of Lineekela’s death.
