WINDHOEK: President Hifikepunye Pohamba has returned from Accra, Ghana where he went to attend the state funeral of the late President John Atta Mills which took place on Friday.
Pohamba joined world leaders and thousands of Ghanaians in paying their last respects to Mills.
The veteran politician’s body had lain in state at the State House parliamentary complex since Wednesday and the funeral service took place at Accra’s Independence Square.
The late President Mills died on 24 July this year after a short illness.
The Namibian Head of State touched down at Eros Airport at 13h45 on Saturday in strong windy conditions.
President Pohamba was received by Prime Minister Nahas Angula and Minister of Trade and Industry Hage Geingob.
