Bokone Bophirima Premier Supra Mahumapelo and MEC for Social Development Hoffman Galeng will on Friday, 22 December 2017, have a luncheon with about 1 500 elderly people at Atamelang in Tswaing local municipality.
Elderly people from the age of 70 years and above will receive Christmas gifts from the authorities, where the oldest citizen will be honoured.
Bokone Bophirima government has undertaken this initiative to honour elderly people and promote their dignity as espoused by Active Ageing. For the first time in this annual event, older persons from other districts will join their Tswaing counterparts where they will engage in choral music
Premier Mahumapelo is scheduled to address the elderly people at the event which will also be attended by MECs, Traditional Leaders, Mayors and Municipal Councillors.
