The Premier of the Free State, Hon. Sefora ‘Sisi’ Ntombela, has learnt with shock and sadness about the passing of Mr. Maditse ‘Chippa’ Seoke. Mr. Seoke, who, at the time of his passing, was working as a Special Advisor to the Hon. Premier, passed on in the early hours of this morning after a long and grueling illness.

Mr. Seoke was a dedicated and experienced public servant, with an experience that spans over 40 years. Mr. Soke holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree from the University of the North (Qwaqwa campus), and was studying towards a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

From 01 October 1994 until 31 October 1995, Mr. Seoke was a member of the Transitional Local Council (TLC) of Qwaqwa. Mr. Seoke worked as a Strategic Manager Corporate Services for the Thabo Mofutsanyana District Municipality from 2002 until 2008. He also worked as the Executive Manager Corporate Services, from 2009 to 2012. Mr. Seoke was appointed Head of Department (HOD) for the Free State Department of Public Works from 2012 until 2018.

Our heads dip in honour of this fallen soldier of the public service. We have indeed lost a repository of knowledge, experience and wisdom. On behalf of the Free State Provincial Government and the people of the Free State in general, I would like to send heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of Ntate Seoke. This is a loss to the entire province. May the soul of Ntate Seoke rest in eternal peace! Premier Ntombela said.

The Free State Provincial Government shall inform members of the community about arrangements for the memorial and funeral services after engaging with the family of Ntate Seoke.
