WALVIS BAY: Power-generation and auxiliary equipment worth US$ 3 million (N.dollars 25 million) will soon arrive in the Walvis Bay port after the UK-based interim power solutions’ provider Aggreko officially opened its doors in the country’s harbour town.
Aggreko is opening its service centre, to be known as Aggreko Namibia Energy Rental Office, here on Thursday.
Speaking to Nampa in an interview, the Head of Local Business in South and East Africa Martin Foster said the company chose to set up office in Namibia as the country is very much open to business.
“Namibia has for the past years experienced a rapid economic growth, despite the world experiencing financial recession,” he noted.
“It is easy to do business in Namibia. That is why we decided to come and contribute to the economic growth of the country, and we are here to support that growth,” Foster added.
Aggreko is the global leader in the rental of power and temperature control. It offers specialist energy solutions.
Foster indicated that the company is in Namibia to provide power backup to ships, mines, fishing factories and the construction industry, amongst others.
