The media is invited to PinkDrive: Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour. The Department of Women Children and People with Disabilities, under the leadership of the Deputy Minister, Hon Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, MP, in support of PinkDrive Stand and Houtbay, will be attending the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour, to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Launched in 2009, PinkDrive, South Africa’s best-loved community carer, is an indispensable, tangible breast cancer non-profit organisation which powered South Africa’s first mobile mammography and educational units through our country with the message that ‘Early Detection Saves Lives’. These units provide a free service to all South African Women who are medically un-insured. To-date, and of which there is data for, PinkDrive have provided over 5 500 free mammograms, educated over 90 000 women and men, and done over 58 000 clinical examinations.
The PinkDrive Power Zone in HoutBay on 9 March (Race Day) is mainly dedicated to our Pink Riders who have raised funds for PinkDrive. It is also an opportunity for friends, family and the local HoutBay community to come down and enjoy a fun filled day, thus showing their support for breast cancer awareness.
