OTJINENE: The Otjinene clinic will soon be upgraded to a health centre so as to increase the scope of services it offers to the community.
Otjinene Village Clerk Mbamunondjamo Kaahangoro told Nampa yesterday that plans to turn the clinic into a health centre are at an advanced stage.
The clinic has to be transformed into a health centre as the upgrading of Otjinene from a settlement to a Village Council has spurred the need for more advanced healthcare.
He noted that they ‘do not have a set date as to when the clinic will formally transform into a health centre, but indications are that the process has already started’.
The clinic, which currently serves twice the number of patients in relation to its capacity, will see additional buildings and alterations conducted to turn it into a fully-fledged health centre.
The nearest health centre is at Gobabis, some 160km away.
