OSHAKATI: Police in the Oshana Region have arrested two suspects on charges of theft of food items meant for the government school-feeding programme.
The two men were arrested in the area of the Uukwangula settlement near Oshakati yesterday afternoon.
Commander of the Namibian Police Force NamPolin the region, Commissioner Ndahangwapo Kashihakumwa confirmed the arrest to Nampa in an interview here yesterday evening.
Kashihakumwa said the duo was arrested while in the process of offloading the bags and boxes of food items from a truck belonging to the catering company, Atlantic Food Service, after members of the public alerted the police.
More details regarding the theft were not available yesterday evening, as the police were still conducting investigations.
