OTJIWARONGO: A 21-year-old man died shortly in the Okahandja State Hospital he was admitted for medical treatment of a deep stab wound in the chest on Sunday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Khairabeb told Nampa on Monday that Abner Taapopi Angula was stabbed in the left chest-side with a sharp object on Sunday at 01H55.
“He was stabbed so deep with un-kwon sharp object in the left side of his chest after a quarrel, and died few minutes upon his arrival at Okahandja State Hospital,” said Deputy Commissioner Khairabeb.
Khairabeb says Angula was seen in the room of his ex-girlfriend in the Oshetu Nau-Aib township in Okahandja before his death.
It is alleged that a quarrel broke out there between him and his girlfriend inside the girl’s room.
The police has now arrested a 28-year-old man brother of Angula’s ex-girlfriend accused to have committed the act, said Khairabeb.
The accused will appear in Okahandja’s periodical court today on Monday.
Angula’s close relatives have been already informed about his death, and the police investigation continues.
