WINDHOEK: The National Youth Council (NYC) will hold a meeting in Tsumeb this coming weekend, to get inputs from the youth for the review of its National Youth Policy.
The seminar will be held under the theme: “ “ Towards framing the national youth policy,” on 27 and 28 July 2012.
According to a Consultant of the NYC Jason Kasuto at a media briefing in the capital on Wednesday, the youth policy review is three years overdue.
He added that meeting is aimed at refreshing thinking, chart new vistas in youth policy development in the country and to reach consensus on Youth development issues.
The meeting to be opened by Prime Minster Nahas Angula will focus on four pillars namely, Youth civic and political participation, youth health and welfare, youth economic opportunity and youth educational skills development.
It (meeting) will be attended by all the 35 youth organizations in the country, all the youth leagues from the different political parties in the country as well as NYC affiliated youth groups.
About 100 delegates are expected to attend the meeting.
