Nuule elected as NASA president

WINDHOEK: The former chairperson of Namibia Bus and Tax Association (NABTA ) Andreas Nuule has been overwhelmingly elected as the President of Namibia Shebeen Association (NASA) for the next 12 months.

Nuule who has been acting an interim president of the association for the past months has received over 90 per cent votes during the extraordinary meeting held in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
He will be deputised by Jafet Andreas while Kornelius Shikolalye received votes for Treasurer deputised by Fanuel San Shivute.

Fanuel Haiduwa ‘Ondjiidi’ was elected as an Information and Communication officer deputised by Martin Shipo while Gerson Shipena was elected as Organizational Secretary. The above elected people are all National Executive Committee members of NASA and will be in the office for the next 12 months until the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) which scheduled to take place in 2013.

During the same meeting the NASA Khomas Regional members were elected where Thomas Iithete will be the Chairperson deputised by Sam Ngombe. Onesmus Iiyambo was elected as regional treasurer, Ben Nashima was elected as Regional Secretary, Silas Nuyoma as Regional Information and Communication Officer.

Simo Ipinge has employed as Secretary general of NASA,Mbajua Kapitako employed as Office Administrator while Tuulikki Ndjene as a clerk at the NASA office in Katutura Customer Care premises.
The elections of the national Executive Committee and Regional Committee were overseen by an independent consultant Horst Heimstadt.

The new NASA national executive committee members will be in office for the next 12 months, until the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is scheduled to take place in 2013.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the NASA Khomas regional committee members were also elected, with Thomas Iithete elected as chairperson and Sam Ngombe elected as his deputy. Onesmus Iiyambo will serve as regional treasurer, Ben Nashima as regional secretary and Silas Nuyoma as regional information, communication and mobilisation officer. Nuyoma will be deputised by Martin Shipoh.

Simon Iipinge will serve as secretary-general of NASA, while Mbatjiwa Kapitako will serves as administration officer and Tuulikki Ndjene as assistant administration officer at NASA’s customer care premises in Katutura. The elections were overseen by independent consultant Horst Heimstadt.
