WINDHOEK: The Namibia Medical Society (NMS) will host its first-ever paediatrics congress at the University of Namibia (Unam)’s School of Medicine here on 12 and 13 October this year.
The congress will take place under the theme ‘Let’s Carry Ourselves into the Future’.
It will discuss more than 30 topics which will be presented by leading experts and authorities in various disciplines of paediatrics, according to an invitation to the event issued on Tuesday.
The topics will include a clinical approach to childhood leukemias; management of diabetes ketoacidosis in children; childhood obesity; the management of asthma in children; HIV and Tuberculosis (TB); and the management of children with suspected poisoning.
Also to be covered are behavioural disorders in children; approaches to be used with a child with an acute abdomen; management of heart failure in infants and children; management of hypertension in children; and the diagnosis and management of a child with Nephrotic Syndrome.
