WINDHOEK: Namibia’s men’s football team that will be competing in the annual Zone Six Youth Games in Zambia in December, started with a three-day training camp in the capital yesterday.
The players reported for camp at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Soccer House in Katutura on Thursday afternoon, and will be groomed by coach Timothy Tjongarero, assisted by Gerald Guther.
The 20 youngsters who make up the squad represent nine of the 13 regions.
The training camp will come to an end tomorrow, and another camp is planned for next month before the team departs for Zambia.
The Zone Six Youth Games will take place in Lusaka from 04 to 07 December this year and will see eight sporting disciplines – athletics, basketball, boxing, football (both boys and girls), judo, netball, tennis and swimming – represented.
