DIYOGHA: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango Region yesterday arrested a 22-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed his elder sister with a knife several times, following an argument over soft porridge.

The incident occurred between 14h00 and 15h00 at Dighova village, which is situated some 190 kilometres east of Rundu in the Kavango Region’s Mukwe Constituency.

It is alleged that an argument broke out between the deceased and the accused person over soft porridge, which the deceased and other family members ate up without leaving some for the accused.

The accused person, who apparently became very irritated in the heat of the argument, allegedly took out a knife and stabbed his elder sister several time on her body before hitting her once on the head with a stone.

NamPol’s acting Crime Coordinator in the Kavango Region, Detective Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa today that the deceased Kathiku Imelda Ngandu, 27, died instantly.
