WINDHOEK: Namibia expects to have a robust and effective housing delivery program where affordability is the key feature of the program towards the ends of NDP4.
According to information contained in a pamphlet summarising the desired outcomes of the National Development Plan 4, which ends in 2017, in five years time, 60 per cent of households will be living in modern houses from 41 per cent in 2009/2010.
President Hifikepunye Pohamba has on many occasions said housing remains a critical issue affecting the poor communities in namibia,
Pohamba noted that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure that adequate housing and sanitation is provided to those desperately in need of it.
In addition, By 2017, Namibia will expect to increase access to water for human consumption from 85, per cent to 100 per cent of the population as well as sufficient reserves for industrialisation.
NDP4 was launched by President Hifikepunye Pohamba earlier this month.
