WINDHOEK: The Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) mobile service company has reached 2,042 million active subscribers in 2012, which accounts for a 10 per cent increase from the previous financial year.
This resulted in the company’s revenue increasing to N.dollars 1.62 billion, representing an 11 per cent hike from the previous year.
MTC Managing Director Miguel Geraldes attributed the 2012 positive results to data growth, complimented by price management in the voice segment with the introduction of 38 cents call tariffs.
Earnings Before Interest Taxes Depreciation and Amortizations (EBITDA) also increased with 11 per cent compared to the previous year, making MTC’s EBITDA for 2012 N.dollars 860 million.
He said this was as a clear result of effective cost management strategies implemented despite the increase of cost to sustain all of our additional networks.
The company’s total profits reached N.dollars 353 million, 10.6 per cent more than the previous financial year.
