Minister visits multi-million Dalasi projects in KM

As part of his countrywide tour of the Community-based Infrastructure and Livelihood Improvement Project (CILIP) intervention sites, the minister of Lands and Regional Government on Tuesday, September 22nd visited the multi-million Dalasi projects across Kanifing Municipality.

KM1The projects included ongoing construction of the D18 million Jammeh Foundation for Peace hospital in Bundung; Manjai Kunda market and Bundung Borehole toilet facilities; and the D21.7 Million 1.8 km Monte Carlo Road, Dippakunda.

Minister Bayo, who expressed good impression over the ongoing works, commended Gambian Agency for the Management of Public Works (Gamworks) and their contractors for the good job.

He dilated on the importance of each of the projects, saying other residents from different communities stand the chance to benefit.

The CILIP, he noted, is a project of the government that made life easier for the community by bringing development to different communities across all regions in the country.

The minister at different CILIP intervention sites advised beneficiaries to manage the projects well saying millions of Dalasis were spent on them.

Different speakers at each project sites spoke well of the projects. Among them were: Mayor Yankuba Colley of Kanifing Municipality; Amie Jatta, councillor, Serekunda Central; Councilor Ebrima Tamba; Alhaji Sulayman Joof, NAM Serekunda West; Mustapha Njie, chairman, KMC; Bashir Camara, councilor, Dipakunda Ward; Ya Olda Jallow, Yai Compin and Momodou Saliu Gomez, Alkalo.
