WINDHOEK: Youth, National Service, Sports and Culture Minister Jerry Ekandjo today told children of the liberation struggle that all youth in the country have the responsibility to look for their own jobs.
Ekandjo was addressing leaders of the group of 350 struggle kids who marched from Outapi in the Omusati Region to Windhoek from 23 January 2013.
The reduced group of about 180 youths reached Windhoek at about 11h00 today, and immediately went to the Swapo-Party headquarters to see Swapo Secretary-General (SG) Nangolo Mbumba.
Mbumba promised to forward their petition to the Office of the Prime Minister, and referred them to the Ministry of Youth, saying it is the ministry which deals with youth matters.
On his part, Ekandjo told group leader Matilde Ndahafa Amutenya and three other group members that the standpoint of the government is that every youth should look for their own jobs, whether they were born in exile or in Namibia during the liberation struggle.
He said all Namibians should be treated equally, even those whose parents were killed during the liberation struggle.
