Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias travels to Washington D.C. (16-17. 05. 2022)

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias has travelled to the USA, to accompany the Prime Minister on his visit to Washington DC.

On Tuesday, May 17, the Minister is expected to hold separate successive meetings at the State Department, with his US counterpart Antony Blinken and with the US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry.

Talks with the US Secretary of State are expected to focus on the strategic relationship between Greece and the USA, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Western Balkans and Ukraine.

In the meeting with the US Presidential Special Envoy for Climate, the prospects of bilateral cooperation to tackle climate change and the undertaking of joint initiatives to protect the seas on the basis of respect for the International Law of the Sea are expected to be examined.
